By Nathan Brown
IAM Canada’s Frank Saptel hosted a training session for local 386 union member Nathan Brown on 11 and 12 July, with the prospect of breathing new life into their local union’s website.
The two-day course focused on the importance of networking, authenticity and communication with an emphasis on community engagement. Brown, who attended the workshop, left with a better understanding of the connection between locals, and how they interact with their members and the communities they live in.
Using WordPress, we restructured the local 386 website, updated the site with key resources and information relevant to not only union members, but to those within the larger community.
The training session was hosted at Owen Sound, ON, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6.
Thanks to the LL386 executives, we hope to greatly increase the engagement and information through our updated local website, and to make this information readily available for all.
